Yes, Breezy AI Search works on static HTML sites
Breezy AI Search adds to any static site with one snippet in your main template, just before the closing </body> tag. No framework or CMS required, and no build step needed for the widget itself.
Five steps, one template edit
- 1 Sign up and add your site
Create a Breezy AI Search account and add your site URL. Breezy crawls and indexes your public pages automatically.
- 2 Copy the embed snippet
In your dashboard, go to Search → Installation, pick Custom / HTML, and copy the embed snippet.
- 3 Open your main template
Open your site's main HTML template, such as index.html, a theme footer, or a shared layout partial. This works the same for hand-written HTML and static site generators like Hugo, Eleventy and Jekyll.
- 4 Paste it before </body>
Paste the snippet into the footer, just before the closing </body> tag, then save and deploy. The widget loads on every page that uses that template.
- 5 Check it on your site
Open your live site, find the search box or search icon the widget adds, and run a quick search. You should see results appear.

Common questions
Does Breezy AI Search work with static site generators like Hugo or Eleventy?
Yes. If your generator has a shared footer partial or base layout, paste the snippet there once and it applies to every page the generator builds.
Does the site need a build step or server for this to work?
No. The widget loads as a normal script tag and works on any publicly reachable HTML page, with or without a build step.
