The problem: content-rich, but hard to find
WhooshPro’s site runs over 110 pages — services, case studies, technical detail on everything from CMS to ecommerce to hosting. It pulls a steady ~12,000 visits and ~1,000 visitors a month. But the on-site search box wasn’t doing anything with either the traffic or the content behind it. It averaged around 10 clicks a month, and most went nowhere — keyword matching meant a visitor had to guess the exact words on the page, and with 110 pages of content to search against, a near-miss was as good as a dead end.
What we changed
WhooshPro turned on its own product, Breezy AI Search, on its corporate site. Two things changed the interaction immediately:
- Conversational search. Visitors could ask in plain language — “How does your client support portal benefit me?” — instead of guessing keywords.
- Suggested queries. Instead of hoping visitors would find their way through the nav, the search dialogue now surfaces prompts the moment it opens — “Do you provide website maintenance services?”, “When should I adopt SolaaS?” — steering visitors toward the questions WhooshPro actually wants to answer.
The results
In the 30 days after launch, search went from an afterthought to an active part of how visitors used the site:
- 382 searches in 30 days, up from under 10 before AI Search
- 62 visitors engaged with search directly, many going on to ask follow-up or conversational queries rather than a single one-off lookup
- 95% answered — search returning a real answer instead of a dead end, versus keyword matching that routinely came up empty
- 26 content gaps surfaced — visibility into exactly where the content falls short, something keyword search never surfaced. WhooshPro is reviewing them into the content roadmap now, prioritizing the ones worth building against
- Average session duration up from around 2m50s to 4m28s over the same period — a sign of visitors engaging with search and content for longer while they look for what they want
The top real questions visitors engaged with were about maintenance services, the client support portal, SolaaS adoption timing, and website UX improvement — exactly the conversations WhooshPro wants to be having.
From search to sales leads
The number that mattered most wasn’t a search metric at all. Before Breezy AI Search, WhooshPro’s website generated 0–2 sales leads a month — call it 10 a year. In the 30 days after search actually started working, it generated 5, spanning maintenance, support, and website design enquiries.
A visitor asking that question through a conversational search box, and getting a direct, useful answer instead of a blank results page, is a visitor who’s already most of the way to asking for a quote.
What’s next
The content gaps the dashboard surfaces aren’t really gaps in the content — they’re potential clients telling WhooshPro, directly and unprompted, what they want to know before they’ll reach out. That’s a different kind of signal than a keyword report or an analytics dashboard gives you: it’s not “people who searched X also viewed Y,” it’s a visitor typing out, in their own words, the exact question standing between them and a lead. WhooshPro is feeding the useful ones straight into the content roadmap.
In Jack’s words
“In trying to solve a real problem for our customers — making their website search actually work — we ended up being the ones who benefited most. Putting it on our own site first meant we felt the same thing they’d feel: watching a visitor type out exactly what they wanted to know, and finally being able to answer them.” — Jack Tan, Project Director & Solution Architect, WhooshPro
